UNESCO Hvar Ager · Croatia
A private estate cradled within the world's oldest surviving Greek agricultural landscape — where lavender, olive groves, and the Adriatic horizon meet your doorstep.
About the Estate
Stari Grad, the oldest city in Croatia, has energy so magical you won't believe it before you feel it. Once you feel it, you'll do your best to stay there. With Oxa Dreamland at your disposal, you can.
In the middle of the Ager plain, far away from curious eyes, you can experience hedonism at its best. You can eat, drink, dance, and enjoy on the land where ancient Greeks had celebrations to honor Dionysus, the god of pleasure. If you sit in the huge 3,000 m² Mediterranean garden with a glass of local wine you won't need anything else — but at Oxa Dreamland, you get more than you need.
UNESCO World Heritage Site
In the 4th century BC, Greek settlers from Paros arrived on the island of Hvar and divided the central plain into a regular grid of agricultural lots — a system called the chora. Unlike virtually every other ancient Greek agricultural landscape, the Hvar Ager has never been ploughed, built over, or significantly altered. The stone boundary walls, drainage channels, and field patterns they created survive exactly as left.
UNESCO recognised this exceptional universial value in 2008. Oxa Dreamland sits within the protected zone — meaning your stay is surrounded by the same unbroken view the colonists would have known. You are not visiting history here. You are living inside it.
What's Included
Every amenity has been chosen to complement the landscape, not compete with it.
Rooms clad in local limestone with linen bedding, timber ceilings, and private en-suite bathrooms open to the fields.
A working lavender garden surrounds the terrace. Harvest, distil, or simply breathe in one of Hvar's most iconic scents.
An ancient grove of 200-year-old olive trees on the property. Cold-pressed oil from last harvest available for guests.
A stone-edged infinity pool with a view across the Ager fields and the Adriatic — heated in shoulder seasons.
A fully equipped kitchen with produce from local growers: figs, capers, island honey, and Hvar Plavac Mali wine on arrival.
Direct access onto marked paths through the UNESCO plain. Guided self-walk map provided with historical notes and waypoints.
A shaded stone terrace framed by rosemary hedges and grapevines — perfect for sunset dinners under the open Dalmatian sky.
Fast fibre connection throughout the estate — for remote work or streaming, without disturbing the peace of the surroundings.
